TOP 10 RESOLUTIONS MADE EASY

These top 10 resolutions are so easy to make. We make resolutions every day whether it’s the new year or just a new morning. I resolve every morning to do a better job of cleaning house and keeping things organized… by evening there are at least 3 dishes in the sink, 2 glasses on the kitchen counter and I can’t find my grocery list to add milk and eggs to. Then, once I find the list I’m on the ever popular search for the pen I just had!! For each resolution you make, you also have to set goals and time frames. However, the very first thing to do is to evaluate the resolution you’ve made.. is there a better way to achieve a better outcome? Feel free to go to any of the links below (just click on them) to learn more about that resolution solution if you choose to. The first thing is to learn how to stop telling your brain to create failure.

BE HONEST WHEN YOU EVALUATE THESE 10 RESOLUTIONS

The trick, when you are evaluating your resolution, is DO NOT OPEN DOORS TO FAILURE. By that I mean the human brain will rationalize itself right out of success if that’s what we tell it to do. If you move forward with any resolution, expect bumps in the road and be ready for them. Let me ask you – when you drive through a parking lot with speed bumps do you stop the car, get out and yell at the speed bump? NOPE – you might mumble about them under your breath, but for the most part you go a little slower over the speed bumps and KEEP ON DRIVING!

Set Yourself Up For Success

In going over the top 10 resolutions, I’d like to start with Resolution 10 just to make a point.

10 – Read More

I am still a believer that the best way to enjoy a book is to be able to touch it. To absorb the author’s words. These days, however, time tends to escape even the best of our intentions. The ability to take time to really read is precious. It involves almost as many brain functions as creating music. Ultimately, both reading and music creation have their unique benefits for brain activity and development. They offer avenues for creativity, learning, and emotional expression while engaging different cognitive faculties.

I had a step-father who believed that having a library of good books proved how intelligent a person was. He purchased volumes of great authors. They were proudly displayed in dark wooden book shelves from floor to ceiling. Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Earnest Hemingway just to mention a few. At the time, however, we were never allowed to read or even touch this collection. He believed that would decrease the value of the books. Sadly, he never understood the true value was in the reading of the books, not in their dollar resale value.

Over time I have inherited the collection. My plan is to have the library again – and while I will be a good steward of the library, nothing will bring me more joy than to invite children, grandchildren and hopefully great grandchildren to sit in a big comfy chair and READ!!

Resolution Solution

We often make these 10 resolutions wanting to improve our lives, so we need to let them. Don’t just set them on the shelf.

To make certain that this resolution is achieved, join a book club… or create one in your own neighborhood. Spend an evening once a month with neighbors and friends discussing everyone’s take away from a specific book. If you have looked into any of the links above I would highly recommend starting with Marketing Is Freedom, Resolution Solution #3, MARKETING IS FREEDOM!! use the code: freedom and download a free copy.

LET’S REALLY LOOK AT THESE TOP 10 RESOLUTIONS

Numbers 1 and 2 are pretty much the same thing.

This is the number one resolution every new year. Did you know that the average person gains 5-8 pounds over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season? Nothing fits any more, and even if you can squeeze into those slacks again there’s always the embarrassing moment when you go to sit down at the conference table and your button flies off you pants and lands right there in the middle of the table!!

And so you resolve to exercise more and start eating rabbit food, or subscribe to one of the many TV diet food services. This then puts you in conflict with Resolutions 6 and 8 because you will likely join a gym to give you the exercise program, you’ll spend money on membership as well as new clothing and equipment. Consequently, you’ll spend less time with friends and family because you are at the gym. Your spending just went up and your free time just went down.

Resolution Solution:

it’s simple, really. You have the option of starting and ending your day with a snap. These remarkable supplements allow you to conquer Resolutions 1 and 2 without huge, or even medium, effort. There’s a snap with your morning coffee or tea to kick start your day and a snap before bed that gives your body stress free, quality sleep so it can process your food intake correctly. You will wake up completely refreshed with no ‘fuzzy’ head. AND, over time, you will lose weight while you sleep. Let’s be honest. You didn’t wake up one morning overweight. Allowing your body to lose weight consistently over time is the true path to long term weight resolution.

As for exercise? Take a walk or ride a bike around the block with your partner or kids. Invite friends over on the weekend for a great game of family football. After all, you didn’t gain that weight all at once. Give your body time and good supplements and you’ll be amazed at how easy these two resolutions really are.

Number 3 – Get Organized.

You can buy budget books, filing systems, storage totes galore, but often it’s a simple lack of focus. It’s just too easy for our brains to get distracted away from “hard” stuff and fall back into the same old patterns. However, until you stop and ask yourself why it is you are disorganized, there’s not a system out there that can sustain your organization resolution. There are numerous ‘why’s’ out there including just plain lack of skills, the need for perfection, our beliefs and even mental health and brain-related conditions. Perhaps you grew up in a disorganized home or a home where nothing was ever good enough. This is not a parent slam, it’s merely a statement. Do you believe that organization and ‘structure’ are the same thing? Are you easily distracted, or possibly trudging your way out of depression?

Resolution Solution:

It’s going to be OK. Just like resolutions 1 and 2 above, there’s a snap to help you with resolution 3. This awesome supplement is created specifically to feed your brain what is needed to bring focus into your life. You likely will feel it with your very first snap. For me, I first noticed I just felt happier. I could just accept things as how they were and I found the focus to adjust or create what was needed. There was no ‘fault-finding’, just ok, let’s get this problem taken care of and then we’ll move on to the next thing.

Now, with an open and focused mind, the budget books and totes become organizational tools. What I didn’t have a skill set for, was easier to research and accept suggested ways to organize my schedule and my living space. In fact, I discovered that the more scheduled I was, the more I could accomplish and the more time I had for myself and for others. You will find you have more time and focus to learn new things (Resolution #4) or to just take some self time with a good book (Resolution #10). Number 4 – Learn a New Skill or Hobby

Think about it. What’s something you’ve always wished you could do but just never took “ME TIME” to learn how to do? Maybe over the years you’ve convinced yourself that it’s TOO HARD, or your TOO OLD to start something like that. That it would just take too long to learn that new skill.

As for a Hobby? Often times hobbies take extra money and time and if you’re already short on either or both, spending time on a hobby just doesn’t seem to be the right thing to do.

Resolution Solution:

Allowing yourself a little ME TIME is always a good thing to do. As for age or amount of time to learn a new skill, age is just a number. Time? Well I’m not talking about being the world renowned expert. That would take you basically 10,000 hours! But here’s a little TEDX video I found on YouTube. It’s been my personal inspiration every time I get down on myself either professionally or personally for not moving forward with an idea:

As for that hobby, evaluate if the cost of the hobby justifies the pleasure you will get. Maybe you’ll build a bird house that friends and neighbors admire. This will prompt you then to make more bird houses for gifts for said friends and neighbors. Then their friends and neighbors will want a bird house and before long you will have a “Hobby” business. While this might bring you more income (Resolution #6) you run the risk of creating more work and less fun. GO HERE TO LEARN more about creating a work from home income.

Number 5 – LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST

This resolution is pretty non-specific. It is almost included in our Resolution List just to fill it out. But really, Living life to the fullest incorporates all of the other resolutions. We’ve covered some above but let’s look at the rest of what we need to live life to the fullest. Just to live at all costs money. And the prices of just living are not going down. Most people move directly from Resolution 5 straight on to Resolution 6.

6 – Save Money/Spend Less Money

Saving money or spending less money is not the way to live life to the fullest. To live life to the fullest you will nee actual cash dollars. From having a better car to living in a better neighborhood it takes money. From the education of your children to taking them on truly memorable vacations takes money. Saving money or spending less will only keep you where you are for now. As inflation happens saving money or spending less will give you less in the long run. Now too, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the rise, many middle income jobs could see a reduction because of AI, or even possible elimination.

9 – Travel More –

It’s said that travel broadens the mind. I’ve been very fortunate to have visited every state in the union except Alaska. What’s important, however, is how you travel. As a child I had no choice in the matter. Every summer the family would pack us all up and “head out on the highway”!! Unfortunately, as the youngest child of three, these treks with me packed between my sister and brother in the back seat hold only a few “happy” memories. The destinations were great, but the journey to and from were not. Over time and with increasing income, I’ve been able to enjoy all of the getaways… including the journey to get there.

Resolution Solution –

It is ever so much better to increase your income to fit the vacation than it is to fit the vacation into your income! You can follow the links given in #6 above and learn how to do this. The best way to travel, however, is to go to great destinations with most, if not all, of your expenses paid!!! Personally I’m looking forward to earning a trip to Napa and Sonoma this fall!!
